Preserve America City Ceremony
Peachtree Emporium, home of thousands of antiques and collectibles, was the
setting for the ceremonial designation of Shiner, Texas, as a Preserve
America City. U. S. Representative Lloyd Doggett, selected by
First Lady Laura Bush, presents the official Preserve America certificate
to Shiner city officials and H.O.T.S. representative.

Shiner approved as "Preserve America Community"
(left) Historic Old Town Shiner recently received a letter of
congratulations from First Lady Lara Bush that their application
had been approved for the designation of Shiner being named a
Preserve America community. Pictured on the porch of the Louis
Ehler's Cigar Factory, which opened in 1895, are board members,
manager and city officials.
H.O.T.S. donates $1000 to Historic Museum
(right) Historic Old Town Shiner gave a one thousand dollar donation to
the Edwin Wolters Memorial Museum, housed in the Wolters home,
built in 1915. The monies shall be use for restoration of
historic homes, businesses and the "Old Shiner Jail" that have
been relocated to the museum property as gifts from the families.
